Are Non US Citizens eligible for private license?

Asked by: 6625 views FAA Regulations, General Aviation, Private Pilot, Student Pilot

Hi,

Can a H1b work visa holder (also Non US Citizen) can join a flying school and learn to fly? Can H1 visa holders get a private pilot license?

Any specific procedure they need to follow? Also would appreciate any url with more information on it.

Thanks

Yes, once you are approved to after a review by the TSA. The process takes about a month and can be longer if the process isn’t followed. See https://www.flightschoolcandidates.gov/afsp2/?acct_type=c&section=WN#C2 for details.
