Safety Pilot’s Certificate Number

Asked by: 5009 views , ,
Commercial Pilot, FAA Regulations, Flight Instructor, General Aviation

Hello,

Is it required that when flying with a safety pilot you write down their certificate number along with their name? Or just the name of the safety pilot?

Thanks.

Had you looked at 61.51, you would have seen that the safety pilot’s name is all that is required to be logged.

Thanks Kris. Have heard rumors that the certificate number was now required but wasn’t sure. Thanks for your help.
