Kortokrax, Olshock LOI’s (CFI/student currency) Rescinded

While going through Chief Counsel interpretations today, I discovered three Memorandums published Aug 16, 2024 dealing with the question of CFI and student currency when flying together. The memorandums stated that the LOI’s for Kortokrax, Olshock, and Schaffner were rescinded on July 23, 2023. I just wanted to share the information. They were easily found on the Chief Counsel interpretations website, but have been since moved to the FAA DRS site.

    There is also a Proposed Rule to partially revive it for recurrent training when the Lerner is acting as PIC.its part of this NPRM https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2023/06/23/2023-12600/public-aircraft-logging-of-flight-time-training-in-certain-aircraft-holding-special-airworthiness

    The NPRM covers much more, but you can search Olshock within it to read what it says.
