I am assuming that the pilot owner is a private pilot rated in the aircraft and fully qualified to act as PIC with a passenger and is not an authorized instructor.

If a student pilot is the sole manipulator of the controls while flying with the owner of the aircraft, they can’t log any flight time. The owner has to be the pilot in command and the student is merely a passenger that the PIC allowed to operate the flight controls. There are no provisions under 61.51 that allow a student pilot to log flight time under these circumstances. The student can’t log solo or PIC unless they are solo or there is an instructor on board. 61.51(e)(1) can be reviewed as follows:
    (i) does not apply because a student is not rated for the category and class
(ii) does not apply because the pilot is not the solo occupant
(iii) does not apply because presumptively the aircraft only requires one pilot
    (iv) does not apply
