How long is the instructor’s signature on the IACRA 8710 form?

Asked by: 2224 views , , ,
FAA Regulations

I am inheriting a commercial student from another instructor that recently left. His logbook endorsements and IACRA were signed by his former CFI, but I fear he it will be more than 2 calendar months by the time he gets to his checkride.

I am reluctant to give him a new set of endorsements under my signature because I did not do his training. I know the prerequisites for practical test endorsement (61.39) is only valid for 2 calendar months, but what about his former's CFI electronic signature on the IACRA form?

It’s the same. I ran into this on my CFI checkride. I had been endorsed to take the checkride on March 9 and weather killed it. I rescheduled for April 13 and the DPE had to change the date. We ended up at May 18. There was no indication that IACRA would expire but I ended up doing a really fast new IACRA application the morning of the 18th because IACRA wouldn’t even let the DPE into the application prepared for March 9 because it was beyond 2 months (it had actually been signed at the end of February).
