Alternator failure

Hi,

I am a student flying R 44 and one question is bothering me last time. Struggling to find an answer.
If the alternator inoperable and the battery is dead 100% will the main rotor tachometer (actually both tachs) inoperable also?
If so, it is a bad idea to go to the home base (or even to the closest airport) counting that you have at least 30 min of power. The battery can quit in 15, 10 min..... you never lnow how long it is gonna last.
In this case you will be out of:
1) Low RPM horn,
2) governor
3) Main rotor tach.

Please advise?

    I cannot answer about 1 and 2, but but the tachometer will continue to work. It is driven by a cable that spins a tach generator that drives the tachometer.

    Beyond that, I’d say ask your instructor and ask him to show you where he derives the knowledge to answer your question.

    I found the answer.
    For all who is flying R44: if your alternator is out of service and the battery is dead, than you will lose both tachometers. Governor and Low RPM horn will be not operable also.
