I am a student flying R 44 and one question is bothering me last time. Struggling to find an answer.
If the alternator inoperable and the battery is dead 100% will the main rotor tachometer (actually both tachs) inoperable also?
If so, it is a bad idea to go to the home base (or even to the closest airport) counting that you have at least 30 min of power. The battery can quit in 15, 10 min..... you never lnow how long it is gonna last.
In this case you will be out of:
1) Low RPM horn,
2) governor
3) Main rotor tach.
Please advise?
