Checkrides outside the US territory

FAA Regulations

Hi everybody !

I was wondering if it would be possible for a DPE to give checkrides outside the US territory  (in Dominican Republic in this case ) to a non US citizen ?

I know it’s possible for a US citizen without any notification but I can’t find anything about a non US citizen .

Hope you will have more informations.

Best regards

The DPE has to stay within his governing FSDO. However due to the scarcity of DPEs the FAA has allowed DPEs to travel to other locations outside of their governing FSDOs.
In regards to conducting an practical test, outside the USA I don’t believe it is allowable. I might be wrong, on this.

You are incorrect in saying that a US citizen doesn’t have to provide notification. All my students have to have at least 24 hr. notification submitted to the examiner who then submits it to the FAA via the DMS system. That applies to citizens and noncitizens of the USA.
