BFR outside the US in a non US-Registered aircraft

FAA Regulations, Flight Instructor

Hi all,
I do have a question which seems to be not easily answerable...

I live in Germany and I am holding (only) an US PPL. My BFR is due 8/31/20. Now I am looking to get this done in Germany as traveling to the US is currently not possible for me.

My FAA CFI over here would have EASA and FAA  CFI licenses. She offers me to do the BFR in her flight school with an German-Registered PA28. Is that possible according to FAA regulations / law and so on?
I am only holding an FAA license so I can definitly not be PIC in the airplane used for the BFR.

Can you help me out?

Thanks,
Markus

The FAA did grant some grace period for flight reviews due to the virus, so you may not need one now.

However, to answer the question you asked, you may take a flight review in a foreign registered aircraft given that the CFI holds a current US flight instructor certificate.

I agree with KDS. The FAA cares that you do it with a US certified flight instructor. The FAA does not care whether the aircraft’s registration begins with a N.

Oh…and since you mentioned it, you don’t have to PIC to get a flight review. Why would you?
