Regarding...

RNAV, PBN, RNP

I studied for Oral checkride, and read AIM 1-2-1 and 1-2-2. However I have some questions.

  1. Do RNP and PBN exist for big airniners? not Cessna?
  2. Is GNS430 has RNP function?
  3. Is it enough to study only AIM 1-2-1 and 1-2-2 for Oral checkride about PBN, RNAV, RNP?

    As to your questions:

    1. Do RNP and PBN exist for big airliners? not Cessna? Both.
    2. Is GNS430 has RNP function? Yes, it supports RNP 10, RNP 1, and RNP APCH. Note RNP is RNAV with alerting for when the RNAV specification is not able to be achieved. RNP APCH is a PBN specification that applies to RNAV (GPS) or GPS approaches.
    3. I would recommend you become familiar with section 1 and 2 of the AIM and for the terms involved, 1-1-17, 1-1-18 and all of section 2.
