KCFE VOR-A PT

Hello,

Inbound to KCFE from the west (own nav), is the proper procedure to perform the PT: intercept GEP R-266', cross reference with FCM R-328' then time outbound for 1 minute, perform PT, fly inbound on GEP R-266'?

    Ray, your basic method to fly the PT is correct, however the issue is how to get to LORDY INT in the first place. Of course, you can only proceed the way that you are cleared to by ATC. If you’re using GPS, you could proceed direct to LORDY, then fly course 086 and do the rest of the procedure turn.

    If you don’t have GPS, then there’s only one way (from the west) to get to LORDY, and it would involve ATC clearing you to intercept the GEP R-266 inbound. In this case, you are not on a published segment of the approach, so ATC would have to give you an altitude to maintain until LORDY. Then once you get to LORDY it’s all the same.

    Ray,

    One minor nit with the way you worded “perform PT, fly inbound on GEP R-266′?” I understood what you meant, that is fly inbound to LORDY as the FAF, but it would be outbound on the GEP 266 radial.
