Part 121 FO Line check and 61.56

Asked by: 2904 views FAA Regulations

Hi everyone,

My question deals with FAR flight review requirements. 61.56(d)(1). That paragraph allows a Proficiency Check to substitute for the flight review. For at least one airline, FOs take a line eval, or line check, and not a proficiency check.

Does a "recurrent line ops eval" fulfill the requirements of 61.56(d)(1)? Or does the airline documentation need to reference a "proficiency check", or other Part 121 reference?

Thank you!

Take a look at FAR 121.441. If the check you are taking falls under the requirements of that regulation, then it is a proficiency check. Personally, I don’t see it meeting that definition.
