Delegating radio work

Asked by: 1565 views ,
FAA Regulations, Private Pilot, Student Pilot

Hi,

I'm a private pilot and not a CFI.  A friend of mine who's a student pilot is close to his checkride and would like to work on his radio work.  I understand if we fly together, only I would be PIC.  Is there a regulation that prevents me from delegating radio work to my friend so he can practice?

Thanks,
Matt

    No.

Many pilots even “delegate” radio work to their non-flying spouses, friends, etc.

Unless you’re an air traffic controller; in which case you work for someone who has no sense of humor.
