CFII Checkride

Flight Instructor, Instrument Rating

Getting ready for my CFII checkride in a couple of weeks, I've heard it isn't nearly as hard as the initial (thank god) I am hoping to get some insight from people that have already taken it. If you look the the Instrument instructor airplane PTS page 20 there is a table for instrument rating add-on to an existing CFI.

The table there tells you exactly what the examiner is required to go over with you for a CFII checkride. My question is:

For section VII-X which include IAP (precision and non precision), VOR/DME arcs, Emergency Procedures, and Post flight. 

Are these to be taught during the oral, flown during the practical or both?

    Since nobody answered, I’ll chime in with my $0.02 worth.

    It’s in the aircraft. HOWEVER, the examiner can ask you about it during the oral because a wide range of things can fall under the oral portion of the practical test.

    One thing that may be of help knowing is that the examiners are not allowed to make up approaches. That is to say if there are no approaches near you that do not have a DME arc as part of them, the examiner cannot (should not) tell you to fly an approach that is based off of a VOR using a different VOR. It’s okay to do that in training, but you can’t (shouldn’t) do it for testing.
