If you discover that one of your nav lights is out, but it is daytime and not required by 91.205/91.213, what steps would you take next before flying? You have to deactivate it and placard it right? This happened once and my instructor just "deferred" it and "squawked" it after the flight. Was that illegal?
Also is it correct that you cannot fly a C172 with inoperative strobes because both the strobes and beacon make up the anti-collision light system?
