Instrument time building

Asked by: 1936 views Commercial Pilot, General Aviation, Helicopter, Instrument Rating

I can’t really find a definitive answer.    Can you do instrument training in  fixed wing without having a private in fixed wing.  I  have a commercial and instrument in  helicopter.  I only ask because I need to build instrument time for another job offer and I’m trying to find  the cheapest way possible.

Sure you can. You would need an airplane instrument instructor (“CFII”) along, of course.

Now, whether your prospective employer will count it is up to them.

Sure. The local helicopter school used to rent my Cherokee so that their guys could get the five hours of instrument training they needed for a commercial license.
