I have been given an IFR clearance many times at non-towered airports where they gave me a quick "as filed". I have gotten this through an FSS so I wasn't able to ask a controller directly. Are they assuming vfr conditions and that I'm doing a vfr climb on course, that I'm flying the published visual departure procedure (if applicable) or are they assuming i'm flying the textual DP. I'm never sure if i'm able to go into actual conditions until i'm established on my cleared route, and I don't have radio communications with ARTCC until well after i'm on my route.
