FAA Regulations, Flight Instructor, Instrument Rating

IFR PIC Currency

Does anyone know of an exposition or more concrete definition? Does holding pattern entry suffice? What is "tasks?" Thanks.

I don’t feel a overwhelming need to make the simple complicated.

Perhaps not, but while you ARE feeling the overwhelming need to comment on internet forums I am busy being concerned about helping my students deal with the real world where ATC instructions often do “make the simple complicated”. Since there are legal interpretations for hundreds of similar questions, and the FAA felt the overwhelming need to make an 834 page AC on a 1 paragraph regulation (14 CFR 43.13), maybe it’s not too much for me to hope that there would be at least one reference a little more concrete, so I don’t have to tell my students to log currency however their hearts lead them.

Sorry. Just a perspective from seeing a few too many requests to th Chief Counsel for solutions in search of a problem.
