What are good resources or your tips to help improve my instructing skills?

Flight Instructor

I'm thinking of resources that may be either specific to aviation or just teaching in general (e.g., educational theory - but something better written than the Aviation Instructor's Handbook please!), such as books, podcasts, websites, videos, etc.

Thanks!

I like all of Rod Machado’s stuff as he brings humor into the cockpit. I also love the Flight Instructor’s Manual by Bill Kershner. Even though the AIH is fairly dry, the concepts are very valid and you will deal with any number of different characters in your day-to-day flying with students.

I really like a lot of the Instagram CFI’s out there, Lew Dix Aviation, SteveO the corporate pilot has good videos, etc., there’s another guy from AK that is great… you get to see their styles of teaching and how you can bring that into the cockpit next time!

Our sincere thanks to all who contribute constructively to this forum in answering flight training questions. If you are a flight instructor or represent a flight school / FBO offering flight instruction, you are welcome to include links to your site and related contact information as it pertains to offering local flight instruction in a specific geographic area. Additionally, direct links to FAA and related official government sources of information are welcome. However we thank you for your understanding that links to other sites or text that may be construed as explicit or implicit advertising of other business, sites, or goods/services are not permitted even if such links nominally are relevant to the question asked.
