IFR In/OutBound AirVenture

Instrument Rating

Hi, I'm trying to accomplish my IFR rating in-time to file IFR (if needed) for this years AirVenture; with the flight originating from Flying Cloud (KFCM) to Fond du Lac (KFDL) via Airways.  This may be to much to ask on this Forum but I'd appreciate advice on how to fly the procedure.  Specifically, outbound from Fond du Lac where the procedure does not begin westbound until BOOTY, clear of Chicago Center airspace.  How do I get from KFDL to BOOTY?  The 172 I'm planning to fly does not have GPS.

Here's a link to the published Notam (Page 26) http://www.eaa.org/~/media/files/airventure/flyingin/6-9-2016-notam-final.pdf

Any other IFR tips/techniques would be appreciated.  Thank you for your advice.

Getting an IFR departure out of Oshkosh during the STMP (NOTAM) is difficult logistically, but not impossible by any means. The NOTAM does say to approach and depart VFR under VMC if possible.

That said, you’ll get whatever routing is convenient for ATC at the time, which might be something like RANDO V170 ODI V171 FGT, which isn’t a tough thing to file and will get you some BOOTY on the way.
