Took old ATP written, Am I eligible for Restricted ATP?

Asked by: 2421 views , ,
FAA Regulations

Hello,

I took the Old ATP written before the new rules went into effect in August 2014.

I am wondering, am I eligible to get a Restricted ATP after taking the old written test? Or does the Restricted ATP only apply to pilots who have taken the test under the new rules...

I graduated from a 4 Year approved University with a degree in an Aviation major. So under the new rules I could get the restricted ATP with 1000 hours... But now I'm wondering if the Restricted ATP does not apply to me since I took the old written.

Thank you so much for your help!

What I do know is that you are not eligible for the r-atp until you talk to your university. There is some type of information and registration process that you have to go through. You are not automatically eligible just because you have a degree from them. While doing this process, you can ask them about your old written.
