Turning and Flaps

Asked by: 2813 views , ,

I have heard several discutions about how dangerous is "increase/decrease flaps" while turning as when in base leg, however, I've never found any material regarding the subject.

Is it really dangerous work flaps while turning? If so, why?

Thanks in advance.

I don’t believe there is any danger inherent in deploying/retracting flaps in a turn. Simply apply flaps as needed. I generally teach my students to put in 20 deg. while turning base.
