FAA CFI teaching certified pilots in their aircraft in Europe

Hello Folks, As a current FAA CFI, am I allowed to fly and train EASA certified pilots in their European registered single-engine aircraft towards obtaining an FAA licence? What about TSA? Can I log such flight hours as dual-given towards renewing my own FAA CFI licence?

You need to abide by the regulations of the country you are in. They most likely will not allow you to instruct in non U.S. registered aircraft.

Our TSA regulations do not apply in other countries.

There is no requirement to log any flight hours toward renewal of a flight instructor certificate.
    See 61.197.

    Kris,

This is from the TSA site FAQ, question 2:

Who must participate in the Alien Flight Student Program?
Persons seeking flight training must submit a request if they are not citizens or nationals of the U.S. and:

They wish to receive flight training in the U.S. or its territories, regardless of whether training will lead to an FAA certificate or type rating; and/or
They wish to receive flight training from an FAA-certificated facility, provider, or instructor that could lead to an FAA rating whether in the U.S. or abroad.

    Thanks John

I hadn’t bothered to read that info. I always confined myself to U.S. students.
Wish you had posted a link to that. It took me forever to wade through the TSA website and find that page.

Although I wouldn’t think that TSA could have one extradited for breaking a regulation, they do have leverage in the form of 61.18. If you look sideways at a TSA agent and they deem you a security threat, they can direct the FAA to suspend or revoke your certificates.
