Are there any schools offering a guaranteed flight instructor position if I train there?

I'm almost finished with my IR and thinking about going to a school that will hopefully sponsor my flight instructor ratings if I do my CMEL there.  Can anyone recommend a school?

The title of your post appears to ask if you can expect an instructor position with a school if you train with them.

The question in the body of the post seems to indicate something different. You use of the word “sponsor” gives the impression that you are wondering if a school would give away training for your flight instructor ratings if you train for a Commercial with them.

I wouldn’t hold out hope that any school would give away training.

As far as a guaranteed flight instructor position, there may be promises, but there are no guarantees in life.

We have done something similar but only with candidates that we know and trust and only for CFI ratings. In this case we carried up to half of the CFI training and then withheld some (or all) of their CFI payments as they worked if off.

    – In each case the candidate worked other jobs or in our shop and we did not rack up a big bill.
    – As a CFI, most are not paid much, so you do not have much room to make payments.
    – This may work better non-career CFI’s as they may have other income to sustain them.
    – We have also contracted candidates to work as a mechanic helper, and in return provided rental and instruction toward a rating. It takes a lot of hours at a helper rate to pay for a certificate.
