GPS Approach – profile view

Asked by: 3486 views Instrument Rating

Hi Everyone, Looking at the left side of the profile view, a Holding drawn at 1600 feet and so the FAF (at 1600') but the graph drawn from the hold to FAF (maltis) gives you impression that a descent required from the holding fix to the FAF. I assume it's not a mistake.  Does anyone know what behind this mystery?

I would assume it is a mistake. It is of little consequence as it does not affect how you fly the approach as one is most likely to be already at the 1600 MSL leaving the IF. The other RNAV approaches at the airport depict a level segment between the IF and FAF. You can report it to AeroNav via email to 9-AMC-Aerochart@faa.gov .
