CPL with “Not valid for night flight or by color signal control”
Asked by: John Rawlings 4439 views Commercial Pilot, FAA Regulations
Is it possible for a PPL ASEL to get a CPL with a "not valid for night flight or by color signal control" restriction on my medical? I can't fly at night alone, but Part 61.129 says for the night solo, I can "perform the duties of PIC with an authorized instructor on board." Would I qualify for this? My understanding is I couldn't actually be PIC because of my restriction, but would it still count as performing the duties of PIC if I was the sole manipulator and there was an instructor on board?
