AGI

Asked by: 4028 views FAA Regulations, Flight Instructor

I would like some clarification on the requirements for recency of experience. So after you pass the FOI and AGI and you get your certificate are you considered recent? Or do I need to get an endorsement from a CFI or AGI before I can start to teach?

Which of the 4 items in 61.217 can you show that you have accomplished in the past 12 months?

On the day you receive your AGI, you have not demonstrated that you can actually teach. You have only presented 2 passing scores. When you receive a Flight Instructor certificate, it is as a result of having demonstrated to the DPE/Inspector that you can teach.

You need to get an endorsement from an authorized instructor prior to exercising the privileges of your AGI.
