Hi, So my CFI is up for renewal, and due to my full-time job, I didn't sign off enough students in the past couple years to qualify for automatic renewal so I am looking at online CFI renewal courses. I have used the Jeppesen program in the past, but am open for suggestions as to which courses you guys have used and which ones you would recommend and why. Thanks for your assistance. Paul

I was in the same boat as I’m renewing mine, the response I got was American Flyers. You pay once and get to renew for life, yes, 1 fee and your done. It may be the best value, however its lots of reading with a 5 question quiz at the end of each section. You must get at least 4 out of 5 right to move on. Not sure if it’s the best, I might look into the Kings program as well.

I did the Kings and was not that impressed. It was all just black text on white bg. No videos, no graphics, lots and lots of reading and answering questions. It did renew my TSA for a year, and my temporary CFI was signed by Martha, so that’s something….

Jeppesen AOPA is by far the easiest to do while working full time. It’s quick, simple, and the questions on the test mirror the practice test that you take just seconds before you take the final exam. If you fail that course, you probably should give up your wings entirely…
