Initial CFI

Greetings!! So i'm working on my CFI and just did the FOI, FIA and AGI writtens this week. I see the beneifits of the FOI, but will it all come into play during the CFI ground school or do I need to work more on my own before starting ground school???

    I think it all depends on your groundschool. At my CFI groundschool, FOI was covered heavily. But different schools may do things differently.

    Yes it will come into play for ground school as well as the steps that follow. Essentially you are being asked to learn how and why people learn, or do not learn, how to recogize the differences and develop strategies for dealing with those instances where people need to learn “differently” or “better”.

    This is the most difficult concept for pilots who wish to become instructors, and not the most fun part of the task at hand. Any time spent learing these concepts will help down the road so long as you are reinforcing your knowledge correctly.

    I did my initial CFI checkride with an FAA inspector 4 days ago: almost half of the ground part (3 hours out of 6.5) was dedicated to FOI.
