Climb Via the SID – Top altitude is at or above 10,000

Asked by: 356 views Commercial Pilot, FAA Regulations

My clearance is, “Cleared as filed. Climb and maintain 2000’. Expect Fl250 ten minutes after departure.” When contacting Departure I’m told to “Climb via the SID.” The top altitude for the SID is At or Above 10,000 feet. Do I level off at 10, 000 feet since I haven’t received clearance higher?

I looked up the FAA order for SIDs 8260.46J. It does not use the wording for a top altitude using “at or above”. Do you have an example of the SID?

My mistake. I’m new to Jepp plates and didn’t see the “TOP ALTITUDE” block in the textual section of the SID. I relearned a valuable lesson today. Thanks!
