Aviation Headsets, Student Pilot

i am just starting to do my ppl training, and i currently have to borrow the flight schools headsets, but i would like to get my own. does anybody know where i could get a decent but cheap headset? the reason i am looking for one that is cheap, is because i want to save as much money as possible for the actual lessons ( i know getting one like a bose wo9uld be worth it, but for now, whilst i am in the first stages i would like a budget one)

thankyou in advance.

The biggest difference today is active vs. passive noise cancelling. Passive relies on pressure and sealing around your ears and is less expensive by far compared to about $1000 for active noise cancelling. Would suggest you go with any of the higher quality passive ones for now and save up for the active ones like Bose. You should end up spending just under $200 for now.

I just recently was able to pick up a slightly used (2 flights) david clark headset from craigslist for $100. Came with the box warranty and an extra mic sleeve Better than anything i could find on ebay. I would check craigslist.

I bought a SoftComm Phoenix from my flight school for about $120 when I started training then I picked up a David Clark H10-13.4 on Ebay. I actually prefer the SoftComm more, it’s quieter and more comfortable but feels a lot more “cheap” so I don’t anticipate it being around for too many years of service.
