Do I need a new medical after a surgery ?
Asked by: Dave 4409 views FAA Regulations, Private Pilot
I'm a FAA private pilot land and see.
I had 5 years ago a bad accident followed by many surgeries. After this first period, I was visited by a FAA doctor and all my medical files sent to Oklahoma. Short after I was granted the Medical Class III (as PPL don't need more).
Short ago I had another surgery (a small "improvement surgery") still correlated with the accident of 5 years ago. This was clearly a small optional (not necessarly required) surgery (at least compared to the many I did before and whose files have been already considered valid for flying). My health status got of course better (I wouldn't have done it otherwise).
Do I need to do a new medical ? Do I need to go again to a FAA doctor ? Or to send the files again to Oklahoma for a new evaluation ?
Thanks
