Class B airspace

while flying under class bravo shelf VFR and on flight following if I request an altitude that takes me into the class bravo do i have hear "cleared into the bravo"

on a recent flight I was told cleared to that altitude but did not get the standard bravo clearance

    No. A VFR aircraft must hear those magical words… “Cleared into Class Bravo airspace”. If you are assigned an altitude that will take you in but haven’t heard those words you must query the controller and ask if you are cleared in.

    As stated above, you need to hear “cleared into class bravo” along with your tail number!

    Always ask if in doubt.
