Is there an EZ formula to determine the cloud tops other then pirep?

    I know how to calcuate cloud bases but the only tool I know of to guestimate cloud tops is the NOAA / ADDS tool:

    http://weather.aero/tools/desktopapps/flightpathtool

    You have to click the relative humidity on weather menu and then view the cross section of your flight.  When the relative humdity is very low, good chance no cloud formations.

     

    Although that is very sketchy guess at best and would look at this site for more information about the science behind calcuating cloud tops:

    BTW, here is how to estimate height of cloud bases (F):  

    Temp – Dewpoint = Spread

    Spread x 227 = Height AGL of Bases

    example:

    59-46=13

    13×227=2,951
