61.129 Night Requirements

Asked by: 159 views FAA Regulations

I already have well over the 10 solo hours required but I don’t have the night requirements met. I was wondering if I can satisfy the 10 solo hours requirement without a CFI on board then do the night with a CFI on board? I understand you can’t mix and match the 10 hours but can you do the night stuff separately?

It’s not about mixing and matching 10 hours or 80 hours or 2 hours. The key word is “solo,” not “hours.”

You cannot mix and match real solo and the “PDPIC” substitute solo to meet 61.129 solo requirements. All commercial solo requirements must be one or the other.
