Helicopter Commercial Regs

Asked by: 1504 views FAA Regulations, Helicopter

Hi, is a business operating under part 91 allowed to provide helicopter rides to the general public at a fair? I see the regulation stating that the number of flights per year must not exceed 6...is that 6 times going to fairs or 6 individual flights or does that regulation not apply here? Thanks.

You are looking at 91.146, which deals with charitable rides.

You should look at 91.147 for sightseeing rides. You will need to enroll in a drug testing program and submit a request for Authorization A049 to your local FSDO.

The requirements are stated in 91.147.
Also, when you begin doing rides, you will need to abide by the regulations in Part 136, Subpart A.
