Exceeding VLO and by how much is too much?

Piper Seminole (PA-44-180) VLO (max gear retraction speed) is 109 KIAS. I've heard that manufacturer published limitations are significantly lower than actual structural and system limitations. What are the potential repercussions of retracting gear at 10, 20, 30 KIAS over VLO?

    No one knows! You become the test pilot. When the plane was certified the manufacture made sure everything worked a the published speeds.
    Could be structural damage. Gear doors might seperate in flight. Stress could jam the gear up or in some other position. There is a good chance your insurance is void. Why not just fly the plane as it was designed?
