First Class Medical Question

Asked by: 1612 views FAA Regulations, General Aviation

This might be the wrong forum to ask the question but just wanted a second opinion.  I'm curious about the requirements for a First Class medical and wondering if I should be worried or not.  I know the requirement is 20/20 separately in each eye (corrected or uncorrected).  In my left eye, with correction I still don't *quite* see 20/20 but with both eyes open uncorrected I see 20/20 and with correction and both eyes open I can get to about 20/15.  Doctor said everything else was healthy and no other issues.  Should I be worried about the first class medical for my vision?

My best advice on getting an answer to that question is to call AOPA

    1-800-USA-AOPA

Their medical people understand the rules and the realities of the FAA’s medical system better than the flight surgeons do (seriously).
