Student Pilot flying solo to another airport for instruction

Asked by: 2180 views ,
FAA Regulations, Flight Instructor, Student Pilot

My student is considering purchasing a plane that is based 40nm away from our home airport. He is wanting to solo the aircraft to our airport to get dual instruction. I’m curious as to if this is a typical situation or not. I would think  as long as he has proper endorsements for the flight there and back it would be ok. What do you all think?

Yes, you can endorse him for that 61.93(2). You have to provide training in both directions and that you find the student to be capable of navigation etc. 50 nm limit, but you then do not have to endorse for each flight. Of course all other solo requirements and time limits apply as far as the aircraft purchased. But this is what a lot of students do in this situation.
