I recently completed my transport Canada exam and received a question on "Define coupling of equilibrium with a aeroplane"

I can't recall the exact question on what they were asking but I have no idea about coupling with a aeroplane means.

A couple is a pair of forces acting on the same plane, of the same magnitude, but not in the same location of one another. A simple example would be that of lift and weight on a simple body (no tail), but they do not directly oppose one another. In general, lift acts upwards aft of the point where weight acts downward. In other words, a couple of forces act to create a rotational moment.

    Hope that helps!
