lost logbook

Commercial Pilot, FAA Regulations

i lost my logbook in some unfortunate events. Now i did submit the form to the FAA to recover my record but i do have my own records and got a copy from my flight school. am i able to generate a new logbook with these records only or do i have to wait for the FAA to send the records to be able to create my logbook again? Also, does it have to be stamped by any department/ person in order for it to be valid or is it ok to just fill it out without any signatures?

My perpetual fear is losing my logbook (even though I log every flight electronically too). See the link below from the FAA about lost logbooks.

    http://fsims.faa.gov/PICDetail.aspx?docId=8900.1,Vol.5,Ch1,Sec8

Note that a pilot is considered an “operator” while flying so you should be able to use your own records to reconstruct your logbook as well. Once you have “rebuilt” your logbook, your signature is your word that it is accurate.

Also, if you received any endorsements that were lost (tailwheel, complex, etc) you should reach out the the instructor(s) you received it from and see if they can reissue it for you.

Thank you for your quick reply!! but i was wondering whenever i start logging the hours again (which are not too much around 250) should i log them one by one or just add in the total forwarded time and leave a note that my old logbook was stolen?.. Also i want to make sure that no instructor signature is needed for my dual flight time while reconstructing my logbook. ?
