ATP Rating Single Engine

For pilots that already have an ATP multiengine rating what is required to get an ATP single engine rating? Could somebody answer the following questions:

I heard that a written test is not needed. Is this correct?

Is an oral required?

What does the checkride consist of?

What are the requirements for the flight school where the training is done?

Most airlines use multiengine airplane. For what kind of operations is an ATP Rating Single Engine required?

Thanks

Let’s go down the list here,

I heard that a written test is not needed. Is this correct? Yes you do not need another written for a certificate rating you already have.

Is an oral required? Yes, but depending on who you do it with will determine how hard it is.

What does the checkride consist of? In the ASA PTS book there is information on additional certification add-ons and what is required at a minimum in a nice graph. If you don’t want to buy ASA the FAA has it free online but you have to check each line item to see if it is required. I hate to tell you but I think you basically do everythingand again how much extra you do is depend on the DPE and if in a sim.

    For online pts – https://www.faa.gov/training_testing/testing/test_standards/

What are the requirements for the flight school where the training is done? Only that they have a CFI and rated for the plane you want to be trained in.

Most airlines use multiengine airplane. For what kind of operations is an ATP Rating Single Engine required? I’m from Florida and the people I know that have ATP single anything are flying 135 to the Bahamas and flying a Pilatus. Only reason anyone really needs it is if they fly part 121 other then that it’s about insurance rates.

    Hope this helps
