Studying for Instrument checkride.

Instrument Rating

So basically I went and took my Instrument Checkride and I failed, got discouraged and then life got in the way and now I'm back at it, roughly 6 months later.  I can have another ride scheduled for April but I don't have a good plan of attack.  I was wondering if y'all could give me some advice on what I should go over and do.  My instructor is missing and the company I was using isn't much help, seems like everyone is spread very thin at the moment.   Just need a rough outline on what to do and I can make it my own, any suggestions would be awesome!  Also good videos to look over for refreshment, books, articles, anything would be great!

    Honestly, the ACS is the best place to start. Everything you’ve worked on to get this rating culminates in the check ride, and the check ride is predicated on the ACS document. The ACS does a good job of breaking down what you need to know from the knowledge and risk management aspect, and a big benefit is that each task has the reference to the regulation, handbook, or other information source so you can go directly to the source documentation. It may seem like an easy answer to simply say look at the ACS; however, as an examiner, I’m surprised at how many people have not looked at the ACS, or even know what the ACS is when they come in for an exam.

    There are many other good sources to study from, including some good online schools that would be worth looking into. But in any case, it still comes down to you being responsible for what is in the ACS. Good luck. If there is any specific information you are looking for, don’t hesitate to ask.
