Plane for sale

Asked by: 2373 views Private Pilot

My 80 year old grandfather has a plane that he purchased a few years ago and has had someone taking him for rides in it and tinkers on it when he can.  But has come to the realization that he will never fly again.  The gentleman that was flying with him insists that he returned the logbook and my grandfather cannot find it anywhere.  What can he do so that he can sell his plane?p

Have you checked with the shop that generally did maintenance on your grandfather’s airplane? Some owners leave their aircraft logs there. If not, the shop at least have maintenance records of their own going back a few years.

If not, sale will be difficult and will probably not be able to get the best market price, but it should still be possible. I don’t know of any that hang out on this forum, but you probably want to consult with professional experienced with aircraft sales and valuation
