CFI

Asked by: 2868 views Flight Instructor, Student Pilot

I am 19 years old and I'm interested in becoming an Airline Pilot and CFI. I have already applied to Phoenix East Aviation. But I'm kind of confused right now, as I wish to pursue a Degree as well. Say- Aeronautical Engineering. Should I do the Engineering prior to the pilot training or the pilot training first and degree later. If I do the pilot training at first hand and work as an Instructor  until I complete my Engineering, wont it be beneficial to me later on while applying to Airlines as it builds my Log time and experience. What must I do?? Kindly help me out.

Thank you

There’s really no reason you can’t do both at the same time: work on your engineering degree at the college/university you’re attending, and work on your aviation ratings at the local flight school. My first flight instructor had an art degree, and he went on to the airlines.
