Range and Endurance Profiles for Cessna 172

Hello, On the the Range and Endurance profile charts in the POH of the Cessna 172, the minimum power setting which information has been given for is %45 . Why is that ? why not any lower than that?

    I’m far from a powerplant guru so there may be a mechanical answer but I’d guess it is for the same reason the cruise charts don’t go any lower either.

    Not too many folks choose to cruise along for extended periods at a power setting that low. When is the last time you did a cross country with the power back to less than 2100 RPM? No need to complicate the charts with power settings not normally used.
