Glide speed

on cessna 172 N the glide speed is 65 knots (flaps up,wind milling)..so is that similar glide speed and minimum drag speed?

    Glide (or best glide, Vbg, L/D max, or minimum power required) speed are all the same. Minimum drag (or min sink) speed occurs at approximately a 10 percent slower speed. In your example 6.5 knots lower, which you can round to roughly 60 knots, would be the speed to shoot for to remain in the air the longest.

    Keep in mind that these will both be effected respectively with configuration changes.
