Failed Flight Instructor Practical Test

Hello! I failed twice the practical test for a basic CFI certificate; both during the practical part, and for the same area. I just learned that for my third attempy the examiner (from the local FSDO) does not intend to give me credit for several areas that already have been successfully completed (even though I was given credit for those same areas in the second test). I have now a very uneasy feeling about that examiner and would prefer to re-test with a different examiner, preferrably from a different FSDO and at a different FBO. Is this possible, and what are the possible raminifications of such a step? Thank you for your advice!

There are no ramifications of changing examiner, FSDO or FBO as long as you are throughly prepared for your third CFI checkride. You will almost certainly have to take the entire checkride again, since the new examiner is unlikely to give you credit for your previous 2 tests (in my opinion).

It’s always the ASI’s option on what credit to give a candidate on a retest.
