Enroute climb limited weight

Dear colleagues. Preparing a flight i've met a question. MEL tels me 

e. Enroute climb limited weight is
reduced by 4,500 lb. (2,040 kg)

Should i reduce climb limit weight? Or TOW?

    I would think you would reduce your climb limit weight. During takeoff you will be at a takeoff power setting and on most turbojet engines that is allowed up to 5min. Once in your cruise climb segment you’ll be at a climb power setting. Likely your aircraft’s ability to make the normal optimal altitude has been effected by your MEL and now a lighter weight is required to make that same altitude. My two cents…
