Endorsement

Asked by: 3449 views FAA Regulations

For student pilots, there is a endorsement for repeated cross country flights not more than 50 NM from point of departure. Question: A cross country flight must be greater than 50 NM so why does the above endorsement say not more than 50 NM? Thank you for the feedback.

Because you are incorrect. A cross country flight does not need to be greater than 50 NM. Go back to the definitions of cross country in FAR 61.1 and read them. Let us know what you find.

Thank you Mark for the reminder of FAR 61.1. I completely overlooked this section.

I see the different cross country parameters in FAR 61.1 depending on the rating sought.
