Dauntless Aviation Acquires Ask a CFI.com
Hello Folks,
At Dauntless Aviation (dauntless-soft.com), we’re a small company with a real passion for making aviation software and apps that make great pilots. For example, we take particular pride in that our GroundSchool series of FAA knowledge test prep titles don’t just provide a polished and efficient user experience that helps people pass their tests, but also especially that we offer by a wide margin the best question explanations in the business. We’ve built our reputation around being the company that smart pilots who actually want to learn the material wel not just rotely “memorize the tests” go to. After all, a test is a one-shot thing; being a safe and smart pilot is for life.
We believe that our passion for providing the highest quality aviation education in a convenient package fits right in with the spirit of AskACFI.com and everybody from Paul and the site administrators to the instructors and pilots who make this community thrive. As such, we’re thrilled to announce that we have acquired this website and have taken steps to ensure its long term technical viability so that it can continue to be a valuable resource well into the future.
What can you expect in terms of changes? Other than what we hope to be reasonably subtle and appropriate notices letting site visitors know about our products, not much. The site will run as ever before and Paul will continue to be heavily involved in the near future. I and the instructors on our editorial board will try to pitch-in answering questions as they can and there will be some general evolutionary site upgrades, but nothing revolutionary. AskACFI will continue to be here for you as it has always been. There may be some nice free surprises for our most active and helpful contributors down the line, but we plan on no changes that will fundamentally alter the site itself.
If you happen to have a moment, please do check out our website and products. We ask if you have questions about them, you contact us via our online helpdesk and not via the public forum here.
We look forward to getting to know you!

Thank you Adrian for the introduction.
I am so thrilled to be welcoming you on as a partner and looking forward to your contributions both as a CFI and educator.
For those who might be wondering, one of the most important elements of the discussion between Adrian and I was that the spirit and philosophy of this site should remain the same. The mission of Ask a CFI.com will continue: helping student pilots. That has always been our goal and nothing there has changed.
I am looking forward to working with you and the rest of the community as we continue to grow the site. I am as excited as ever about what the future holds for Ask a CFI.com

Pleased that my favorite pilot software is teaming up with my favorite CFI site…
i’ve used Dauntless products for all my knowledge tests, and most of my checkrides, including CFI/CFII. For reasonable cost you get current info and lifetime updates. Wish they paid me or gave me a discount for signing up students, *sigh*, my only criticism thus far.
Blue skies, everyone!

Hi Guys,
Sorry for not replying sooner. We’ve been busy with some of the technical moves over the last week or so. These appear to have now been completed and have gone smoothly. You may have noticed the change to the site header and a few other small changes. As I and the tech guys learn the system here, we’ll get more involved while doing our best to let the community continue to thrive while also reminding them of the stuff we have been working on, including updates to FAA test preps (we’ve been working very heavily with the FAA these last few months catching errors in their latest question updates) and considerable upgrades to our PilotLog.com pilot logbook system.
Thank you all for the welcome, and we look forward to working more closely with you all soon once we get a better handle on the technical bits of this site!
